The different aspects in detail

The grammage:

The grammage tells you from what strength the bag was made, or how heavy the material used turns out. The grammage is given in grams per square meter (g/m2). The higher the grammage the higher quality the bag feels, but also the more expensive it is. The range is between 100 g/m2 and 280 g/m2. The higher the grammage the more durable the bag.

Dimensions:

The standard size for cotton bags is 38 x 42cm. Certain specimens have an additional depth of up to 7cm. This, of course, gives additional storage space.

Materials:

There are 3 different options: Normal cotton, organic cotton and recycled cotton. Currently, especially the recycled cotton tote bags are very popular.

Which imprint technique is the right one?

Since the print area for cotton bags is relatively large, a screen printing process is actually always used. Either as normal screen printing directly on the product, or as screen transfer printing over a film, which is then applied to the product. The latter is also possible in the digital printing process and all variants have their advantages and disadvantages.

• Screen printing: Directly on the product, no foil (therefore smooth, but matt), implementation with full colors (e.g. Pantone), light colors on a dark background have coverage difficulties, inexpensive.
• Screen transfer printing: Via transfer foil, "bright" colors can be implemented better, implementation with solid colors (e.g. Pantone), no problems with light colors on a dark background.
• Screen transfer printing digital: Same properties as normal screen transfer printing, possibility of image printing with color gradients (printing according to CMYK), price-wise the most expensive process.
